Arsenal travel to Anfield tomorrow to take on Liverpool and Paul Merson believes Mikel Arteta‘s men can pick up a draw.
The Gunners’ record at Anfield is terrible. They haven’t won a game in the Premier League there since September 2012, losing six and drawing two of their last eight visits to the red part of Merseyside.
Arteta’s team, however, have been excellent recently. They are unbeaten in their last 10 games in all competitions and the fixture tomorrow is arguably their best chance of ending their Anfield curse.
Merson, in his predictions piece, backed Arsenal to get a result, but he hasn’t gone as far as saying they’ll beat Liverpool. He believes that the two sides will pick up a point each tomorrow.
Paul Merson predicts Liverpool v Arsenal
He wrote in his column on Sportskeeda: “This is most definitely the game of the Premier League weekend and a big one for both teams. Liverpool are trying to win the league and have to bounce back from their defeat against West Ham.
“Arsenal, on the other hand, are flying a little bit and are on a run, but they won’t want to be billed as flat-track bullies. They need to get a result here against one of the best teams in the country and even if they don’t, there are ways to lose a football match.
“I’ve said since the start of the season that if Arsenal keep their starting XI fit, they can get top four. Judging by the aspirations of the two clubs, a draw would be good for Arsenal, while Liverpool will be unhappy with it as they are trying to win the Premier League.
“However, I predict the two sides to share the spoils at Anfield. Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal.”

TBR View:
Backing Arsenal to avoid defeat at a ground where they’ve picked up just two Premier League points in the last nine years is a very bold prediction.
However, the Gunners are full of confidence thanks to their recent run. Their defence has looked extremely solid and their goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, hasn’t lost a game yet in an Arsenal shirt.
The game tomorrow is Arsenal’s best chance of beating Liverpool at Anfield, but it won’t be easy.
A draw is arguably the easiest result to predict, but Liverpool will definitely go into the clash as the favourites and it won’t be a surprise to see them pick up yet another win over the Gunners.
