Liverpool are considering signing West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian to replace Simon Mignolet who is likely to depart this summer, according to Goal.
The Reds will need a new understudy for Alisson Becker if the Belgian does opt to leave Anfield. The 31-year-old could move on in an attempt to play more frequent first-team football.
Spanish custodian Adrian has fallen down the pecking order at the London Stadium behind Lukasz Fabianski. The 32-year-old played just five cup games during 2018/19.
His chances of first-team football probably wouldn’t improve much at Anfield. Alisson is firmly established as the club’s number one and Adrian would act as the reserve goalkeeper.
Liverpool won’t be the only club interested in his services. According to the report, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are also keen on the man who has played 150 times for the Hammers.
Liverpool would pull off a decent acquisition if they were to land the West Ham man.
The Reds will need a capable pair of hands should anything happen to Alisson, whilst it is fair to say that Adrian represents an upgrade on Mignolet.
The man with 125 Premier League appearances to his name is a popular figure among the West Ham faithful. He would probably welcome the chance to sign for Liverpool and get his hands on some silverware before his Premier League days come to a close.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has been in the mix for silverware during his tenure at the club and he would relish the chance to be a part of that.
