Liverpool transfer: Watford reportedly eye Harvey Elliott
Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott could be offered the chance to play elsewhere in the Premier League next year, with the Sunday Mirror (6/6; page 68) reporting that Watford want to loan the teenager during the summer transfer window.
Elliott goes into this summer off the back of an outstanding loan spell with Blackburn Rovers.
He had a direct hand in 18 goals, scoring seven and setting up 11. Unfortunately, his performances were not enough to inspire Tony Mowbray’s side to promotion.
One side however, who did go up was Watford. And it appears that the Hornets want to offer the 18-year-old the chance to go to the next stage in his development.
According to the Sunday Mirror (6/6; page 68), Watford want to take the attacking midfielder on loan.
It is noted that other sides have also registered an interest in Elliott. But he may end up staying on Merseyside.
According to the Mirror, Jurgen Klopp is yet to take a decision on his plans for Elliott.
Liverpool must be tempted to keep Elliott in transfer window
There must surely be a good chance that Liverpool will decide to keep Elliott beyond the transfer window.
He proved a real point while at Ewood Park. He was seemingly managing to impress the Reds fans on a regular basis.
And after a campaign in which Liverpool endured so many problems, it must be tempting to keep Elliott in the ranks.
Klopp previously labelled the starlet ‘such an exciting prospect’. And he will surely be wary of loaning him out again at such a crucial stage in his development.
The Reds, once again, look set to battle on several fronts this coming year. So Elliott could surely expect plenty of game-time should he stick around.
Watford are surely going to need to provide some assurances if Liverpool are going to be willing to loan him out once again.
