Liverpool are putting the feelers out over a deal to sign Inter Milan defender, Milan Skriniar, according to a report from 90Min.
An injury to Virgil van Dijk, with Jurgen Klopp confirming he could miss a month or more, has left the Reds short of top-quality options at centre-back. And with goals conceded already a problem for Liverpool, a replacement for Van Dijk could be sought.
90Min reports how Liverpool have intermediaries have ‘reached out’ to Inter to touch base over a potential deal to sign Skriniar. Liverpool’s interest comes amid a host of other English clubs being keen, including Manchester United and City. Further, Arsenal have also reportedly cast their eyes over Skriniar along with PSG in recent weeks.

Skriniar could be free to leave for nothing in the summer and Inter are well aware that if a good bid comes in January, then they’ll be silly not to accept.
The Slovakian has been integral in Milan for some time now. But with no sign of a new contract, Skriniar appears to have a host of options available.
Liverpool take on Wolves this weekend in the FA Cup. Cody Cakpo, their main January signing, is expected to play.
TBR’s View: Skriniar and Van Dijk is immense for Liverpool
Forget the fact that Skriniar could replace Van Dijk for now. The idea that they pair up down the line is something Liverpool fans can be excited about.
Skriniar is a class act. He has been for a while, both with club and country. Dubbed ‘monumental‘ for a performance against the Reds before, the Slovakian is a star defender in Europe.
If Liverpool do act and land Skriniar, then it’s an instant hit. It also delivers another body blow to their rivals, who all seem to be keen on the big defender themselves.
