Liverpool told they need Moises Caicedo transfer now
ESPN pundit and former USMNT international Janusz Michallik has claimed that Liverpool need a player like Moises Caicedo in the January transfer window, insisting that he would be the perfect signing for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are going through a really tough period. They have lost three of their last 10 in all competitions. And they are currently seven points off the top-four in the Premier League.
They have actually not kept a clean sheet in the top-flight since mid-October. But it does appear that their midfield has been one of their biggest issues this season.

Fabinho has been well short of his best. And that has perhaps exposed some of the other frailties amongst their options in the middle of the park.
Reports from the Daily Mirror at the weekend claimed that Liverpool want Caicedo. However, he would cost £65 million, with Chelsea and Newcastle United also front-runners to secure his signature.
Caicedo is enjoying a real breakout season at Brighton. He has stepped up since the club sold Yves Bissouma in the summer. And Michallik has insisted that he ticks so many boxes for Liverpool that they should look to sign him at the earliest opportunity.
“Caicedo, for Liverpool, I would do it now, if there’s a way. They need legs,” he told ESPN.
“That midfield needs legs. And that’s exactly what you’re going to get. A physical player, box-to-box, he can defend, he can attack. We saw his goal at the World Cup.
“Moises Caicedo, the profile for Liverpool, at this moment, they need it now, they need it right away because that’s not going to be easily fixed even when everybody’s healthy. That would be a perfect signing.”
Liverpool have shown in recent years that they are prepared to push the boat out for their top targets, no matter what time of the year it is.
The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Luis Diaz joined the club in previous January windows. So if they sense that Caicedo is a player they must have, they may well be ready to go big to get him.
