Liverpool could finally sign a player Jurgen Klopp has wanted at Anfield for ages this summer.
The Reds have tracked many world class footballers ever since the German replaced Brendan Rodgers, including a few famous sagas such as the one involving Nabil Fekir.
Some gems have been signed for bargain fees, such as Mohamed Salah in a £34m deal and Andrew Robertson for just £8m – arguably for free as Kevin Stewart moved to Hull for £8m in the same window.
However, there is one player Liverpool never managed to get their hands on – although that could change this summer…
Liverpool could finally sign player they have tracked since 2018
Well – according to the Express – Liverpool wanted to sign Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina way back in 2018.
The Italy international eventually sealed a £34m move to Juventus in May 2022 after spending two seasons on loan at the Allianz Stadium, with Liverpool’s interest persisting.
Now – according to Sportslens – Juventus are planning a summer clear out, with Chiesa among four players who could be sold due to his contract situation.
The Italian – who some have compared to Luis Suarez – has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal, and is showing no signs of penning a fresh contract.

Sportslens believe Chiesa will be put on the market for £35m if this situation remains the same, which seems likely, with Adrien Rabiot, Weston McKennie and Samuel Iling-Junior all likely to depart as well.
The Juventus No.7 has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 25 Serie A appearances so far this season.
Exit seems likely for Federico Chiesa
Of course, Chiesa could always surprise people and sign a new contract at Juventus, but he appears to have burned his bridges a little bit in Turin.

Juventus fans recently booed and whistled the 26-year-old amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, and also amid the emergence of Kenan Yildiz, who is arguably outdoing the man from Genova right now.
A story from Calciomercato added that Liverpool were left on red alert after this incident, so there is plenty of evidence to suggest a summer move to Anfield could happen for Chiesa.
The Italian news outlet even write that Juventus fans have “chosen” Yildiz over the Liverpool target.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Michael Edwards could finally sign Chiesa this summer.
