Liverpool to make second move to sign 'outstanding' World Cup star soon, he's playing tonight - journalist

Foot Mercato’s Anas Bakhkhar claims Liverpool are set to make their second move to sign World Cup star Sofyan Amrabat soon.

Jurgen Klopp looks set to bolster his midfield options over the coming transfer windows after their struggles in the position have been evident this season.

The Reds have been linked to a host of midfielders ahead of the January window, including the likes of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, who have both impressed at the World Cup.

Another midfielder who’s caught the eye in Qatar is Fiorentina’s Amrabat, who has helped guide Morocco to their first ever semi-final.

The 26-year-old’s displays for Walid Regragui’s men have been labelled ‘outstanding’ and he’s set to face-off against France tonight. And it seems that Klopp could be aiming to tie up a deal for Amrabat as soon as the World Cup finishes.

Liverpool set to make move to sign Amrabat

Anas Bakhkhar spoke to Empire of the Kop about Liverpool’s pursuit of the Moroccan star.

The Foot Mercato journalist claims that Klopp has already spoken to Amrabat’s agents and they are set to meet again just days after Sunday’s final in Qatar.

“Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp has met the agent of Sofyan Amrabat, we can also mention that his brother, Nordin Amrabat, who has been working on his brother’s career for a long time now, was also there and they both met with the coach,” he said.

“It was a very good meeting, it was positive and they will be meeting a few days after the end of the World Cup to see if the interest is the same for Jurgen Klopp.

“After his performances in Qatar, the interest shouldn’t change and there will be other meetings to see the demands of Fiorentina, also the demands of his agent – to see if that transfer will go ahead or not.”

Amrabat has been sensational for Morocco over the past month and could be an attractive option for Liverpool in January.

The Reds will seemingly struggle to sign the likes of Bellingham next month and may have to wait until the summer.

Klopp needs fresh faces in the middle of the park and Dean Jones claimed over the weekend that Amrabat is preparing to leave Fiorentina.
