It is being reported by Diario AS that Barcelona are ready to try and reclaim some of the reported £135.5 million (BBC) they spent on Ousmane Dembele back in 2017.
The report suggests a potential £80 million asking price for the former Borussia Dortmund player, who would reportedly be open to a Premier League move. The report even namechecks Liverpool as one of the teams who could be keen on a deal for the French international.
But for Jurgen Klopp to make a move for the player, it would see him have to forgive Dembele for an apparent 2017 transgression.
As reported by Bild, Dembele was renting a property owned by Jurgen Klopp after joining the Liverpool manager’s former club Borussia Dortmund from Stade Rennais in 2016.

But when Dembele went to France in order to try and force a move to Barcelona the following summer he seemingly left the house in a poor state.
The report claimed it was ‘trashed’, with rubbish left outside, underwear outside and an armchair left out to the elements.
Undoubtedly Klopp would not have been pleased with the way Dembele was said to be treating his property.
But more likely to prevent a potential Dembele transfer to Anfield is Liverpool’s lack of need in that area of the park. The Reds are well-stocked in attack and spending such a large fee on Dembele would certainly be a surprising act considering their current options.
