Liverpool were not particularly busy in the summer transfer window and may well look to be more active in the January market.
The Reds only made two signings in the summer, bringing Italy winger Federico Chiesa to Anfield and securing the signature of Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool have nonetheless done very well so far this season, sitting second in the Premier League table and winning all of their Champions League and Carabao Cup games to date.
However, there’s certainly scope for the Reds to make moves in January, especially if there’s the chance to bring in long-term replacements for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
Now, according to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, a player who has modelled his game on Salah would jump at the chance of joining Liverpool.

Omar Marmoush would jump at Liverpool chance
The player in question is Eintracht Frankfurt attacker and Egypt international Omar Marmoush, who has been in red-hot form this season.
Plettenberg has posted an update on X, saying Liverpool are “indeed a serious option” for the 25-year-old, who has been valued at £42-50million.
“The interest is real, and there has already been contact between the player’s camp” and Liverpool, and Eintracht are “aware of it”, he added.
“Marmoush dreams of a move to the Premier League and would immediately agree to join Liverpool,” concluded Plettenberg.

Marmoush ‘works extremely hard and is hard to defend against’
Marmoush has registered a staggering 10 goals and seven assists from just 11 games for Eintracht this season.
His overall tally for the club reads 52 games, 27 goals and 13 assists, while his Egypt tally reads 34 caps, six goals and three assists.
As per the official Eintracht website, Marmoush has ‘picked up many of the facets of his game from Egypt’s superstar Mohamed Salah, who he names as his biggest idol.’
They also quote Marmoush as saying: “When I watch him, I can learn a lot.”
Meanwhile, the Bundesliga website has compared Marmoush’s style of play to Hoffenheim and Croatia ace Andrej Kramaric.
“He works extremely hard and is hard to defend against,” they quote Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller as saying.
“His pace makes him an awkward opponent for defenders when he runs in behind them. I like that he is very diligent and always listens. His goals are a reward for his effort.”
