Supposed Liverpool transfer target Fabian Ruiz is apparently stalling over signing a new deal at Napoli.

Cadena Ser report that the versatile Spanish midfielder is considering his options at the moment, with Real Madrid stepping up their efforts to land him.

Cadena claim Real are in ‘constant contact’ with the player, who cost Napoli £25.5 million to sign from Real Betis in the summer of 2018.

The Spanish giants’ intensifying interest may well spark Liverpool into action, with the Reds linked with a move for the playmaker in September (Calciomercato).

Liverpool came face-to-face with their target last week as Napoli came to town for the teams’ reverse fixture in the Champions League.

TBR’s view – Liverpool should follow Madrid’s lead

Liverpool should maybe think about getting to work over Ruiz if he is indeed stalling over a new deal.

The lure will likely be huge from Real for the Spanish player, but Liverpool are in the best shape they’ve been in for many years right now.

The European champions have an incredible team and manager, and are perhaps due a blockbuster signing after not spending in the summer.

Ruiz would be a fine addition for the Reds as currently, they are slightly lacking a source of goal productivity in midfield.
