Liverpool are said to be keen on the signature of Dutch international Danjuma Groeneveld. According to the Daily Mail, they join Tottenham, Everton and AC Milan, who have had a £9 million bid rejected, in the hunt for the player.
It has been a great season for the Club Brugge star. Since joining the club from NEC Nijmegen in the summer he has worked his way into the Netherlands national team.
He even scored on his full international debut.
Groeneveld, who is now an international team-mate of Liverpool regulars Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum, featured from the start as the Dutch took on Belgium in October.
It came just three days after he made his international debut as a substitute in the famous 3-0 win over Germany.
Groeneveld found the back of the net in that game. Playing against the nation where he plays his football, he scored a 27th-minute equaliser after Dries Mertens had given Belgium the lead.
He even scored past a Liverpool player. He slotted home between the legs of Simon Mignolet, who was preferred to Thibaut Courtois for this international friendly.
Mignolet, who actually had an incredible game, will, therefore, know all about his cool head in front of goal. If Liverpool did manage to get hold of Groeneveld, the newbie would immediately have some bragging rights over his new team-mate.
