Bukayo Saka has insisted that he plans to just concentrate on his football amid speculation on his future, with the Daily Mail reporting that Liverpool are amongst the clubs looking at the Arsenal youngster.
Saka has been a revelation in the Premier League this season. The 18-year-old has provided eight assists in all competitions, including four in the top flight.
What has been so impressive about the teenager’s form is he has often been deployed at left-back for the Gunners. He has arguably added his name to the permanent pecking order alongside Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney.
So it will probably come as little surprise to many Gunners supporters that he is reportedly attracting attention.
The Daily Mail has claimed that the Reds are keen on Saka, while Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also monitoring his situation.
His contract is set to expire at the end of next season. The Mail reports that Arsenal have started to hold talks over a long-term deal.
But Saka is seemingly not giving too much away. However, perhaps there was reason for Arsenal fans to be cautiously optimistic as he commented on playing under Mikel Arteta.
“I just leave all that stuff to my agent and my parents. I just enjoy my football and play my football,” he said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“They’re sorting it out. Of course I’m enjoying my football, enjoying playing under the new coach so we’ll see what happens.”
Saka’s comments arguably hint that Arsenal have every chance to win the battle for his signature. And the Gunners should certainly look to end any uncertainty as soon as possible.
His stock appears to be growing with every appearance. So it would be no surprise if the list of his admirers also grows before too long.
And Arsenal should certainly view addressing his future as a priority.
