Liverpool supporters react as club reportedly after Victor Osimhen

Liverpool are reportedly in talks to sign Lille speed machine Victor Osimhen this summer but face plenty of competition from Premier League clubs, even including Newcastle United – and Reds supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Le10Sport has claimed that Liverpool are in the midst of negotiations over a move to sign the 21-year-old wonderkid, who has scored an impressive 18 goals in his first season with the French club – despite playing out wide, and up front.

The report claims Liverpool are not alone in their pursuit of the eight-time Nigeria international, though. Osimhen is also being targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United, while Newcastle are also touted as a potential suitor – if the takeover is completed.

Liverpool do have options up front. Roberto Firmino remains first choice, but the Brazilian plays more as a number 10 – or a false nine – and both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah go beyond the Brazil international.

Osimhen can play out wide or up front, and would be much more suited either Mane or Salah’s position than Firmino’s. Pace and an eye for goal, Osimhen is showing enormous potential but Liverpool would have to splash a whopping £70million.

Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that their club are in talks to sign Osimhen from Lille, and many believe the striker would be a top signing going into the 2020-21 campaign. Others, though, want Timo Werner.
