Liverpool are reportedly interested in Lazio striker Joaquin Correa this summer after the Argentina international has starred for the Serie A side this season – and Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter.
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool want the 25-year-old star and the Reds could even waiver a 30% sell-on clause in Luis Alberto’s current contract in order to land the versatile forward. Correa has a release clause worth a whopping £70million.
Liverpool need a striker this summer with Divock Origi one of six Reds players linked with leaving Anfield in the coming months, as per the Mirror. Others include Naby Keita, Nathaniel Clyne, Loris Karius, Dejan Lovren and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Correa is more akin to Firmino, then Origi. Indeed, the Argentina star likes to drop deep and get involved in creating a goal – as well as finding the back of the net himself. Playing behind Ciro Immobile, Correa has scored eight and created four in 25.
Indeed, since moving to Lazio, Correa has been used on both flanks, in the 10 role and up front – but has still had a hand in 27 goals during his 71 outings, despite starting just 48 of those.
Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that The Reds are after Correa, and many believe he would be an excellent signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
What a signing this would be. Again falls into the speculation category but Correa is some player🔥 absolutely tortured us in the 2016 Europa League Final and is generally a nuisance👌 I would hope this one have legs but not everything you see is true…👀🔴⚽️👊 #LFC https://t.co/9ctEmRU4Ib
