Liverpool could reportedly turn to Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele this summer if RB Leipzig do not drop their asking price for long-linked Timo Werner – and Reds fans have responded to the potential signing of Dembele on Twitter.
Recent reports have claimed that Liverpool have ended their interest in Germany international Werner, 24, as they are unwilling to pay the £50million release clause. However, the latest report claims that is only partly true.
Football website 90Min say that Liverpool remain keen on Werner, but are indeed unwilling to pay the release clause. Liverpool will only go as high as £40million, and if Leipzig fail to reduce their asking price, The Reds will look elsewhere.
Indeed, Barcelona attacker Dembele will be targeted if the Reds choose not to spend big on former Stuttgart attacker Werner. Dembele is worth less than half of the £100million, as per 90Min, and Barcelona are keen to get rid of the World Cup winner.
They are so desperate to get rid of Dembele that they would even sanction a loan-to-buy deal, which could see Liverpool save a lot of money in a summer window where finances may be affected.
Liverpool supporters reacted on Twitter to reported news that Dembele could be the next player through the entrance at Anfield, and some think he would be a good signing for Klopp’s side.
Getting Ousmane Dembele and Timo werner for under £100 million would be amazing by @LFC

we’ve seen this plenty times before, problem is we’ve seen us secure alisson and vvd but also pull out deals completely. Honestly a loan with an option to buy could be perfect for dembele to see if klopp can fix his attitude problem and if that’s possible could be a bargain

I’d love him, think he’s incredible
Just needs to stay fit

Not expecting LFC to make any costly moves this summer tbh so can't see us moving for him…
Wouldn't mind a reasonable loan deal..i agree he isn't going to play 35 games a season but can be a decent rotation option who can actually make an impact as he is good technically

Would be potentially huge! If Dembele a Liverpool possibility, then Werner needs to go on the back-burner, I think.
