Liverpool supporters react as club could reportedly sign Nicolo Zaniolo in swap deal

Liverpool could reportedly sign Roma wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo this summer as part of a player-plus-cash deal, which would see Reds defender Dejan Lovren move to the Serie A giants – and Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter.

Zaniolo, 20, has continued to shine for Roma despite his tender age this season – scoring six goals in 24 Roma appearances. He has already been used 60 times in all competitions for Roma, and is quickly being regarded as one of Italy’s best prospects.

Indeed, Zaniolo has already been afforded five caps for Italy’s senior side under Roberto Mancini. It is little surprise, then, that Italian outlet Il Sussidiario have claimed that he is worth between £45million and £54million.

That same report states that Liverpool are very interested in Zaniolo but are unwilling to spend such a big amount – given the financial restraints of the global health crisis. Roma, for the same reasons, are keen to bring in some cash for Zaniolo.

So, Roma are willing to reduce Zaniolo’s asking price in order to push through a sale – but only if Liverpool include Croatian defender Lovren in a deal. The former Southampton star has a contract at Anfield until the summer of 2021.

Liverpool supporters have reacted on Twitter to the report that the Reds can sign Zaniolo as part of a player-plus-cash deal that would see Lovren go the other way – and Reds supporters are all for the offer.
