Liverpool summer signing Fabinho may finally be called upon this weekend

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho may finally be handed a chance by Jurgen Klopp at the weekend.

The Brazilian is yet to start a game for his new club following his £40 million summer move from AS Monaco.

The form of James Milner, Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum has made it difficult for him to see much football so far.

Perhaps luckily for Fabinho though, the former pair could miss the game with Huddersfield Town through injury.

Milner was already on the treatment table having sustained a hamstring injury against former club Manchester City, and now Naby Keita is a doubt for the game after suffering a thigh injury for Guinea against Rwanda.

Although new reports have suggested Milner might not be out for a month as was first feared, he surely won’t make Saturday’s clash with the Terriers.

These new injuries could pave the way for a return to the starting lineup for Jordan Henderson, but perhaps Klopp should consider throwing Fabinho into the mix.

Fabinho probably needs a start

Klopp has hardly used Fabinho so far this season, but the game with Huddersfield is the perfect chance for him to announce himself in the Premier League.

The manager may be tempted to go with Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum, but Fabinho might be the more sensible option.

Dutchman Wijnaldum has played a lot of football this term and has just featured for the Netherlands over the international break.

Fabinho is fresh and raring to go.

This is surely his time now to make an impact. If Klopp doesn’t hand him a start, then he risks Fabinho’s morale.
