Joe Gelhardt has been lauded by Liam Cooper on Instagram after Leeds United’s clash with Chelsea on Saturday, while Liverpool starlet Leighton Clarkson labelled the forward ‘the goat’.
Gelhardt provided one of a number of positives for Leeds as they suffered an agonising loss at Stamford Bridge. The forward replaced Raphinha with Leeds 2-1 down during the second-half.

He has previously demonstrated for the first-team just how exciting he is. Many were blown away by his performance when he made his full Premier League debut at Tottenham last month.
The 19-year-old is yet to start since then. But he has staked a claim for more game-time with Patrick Bamford once again sidelined with injury.

Gelhardt scored an equaliser with his first touch – of only three – after coming on against Chelsea. It was an amazing moment for everyone associated with Leeds and the young forward.
He made sure to get onto the end of Tyler Roberts’s superb cross. And while it was not enough for a point, it will certainly prove to be a huge moment for Gelhardt.

Unsurprisingly, Gelhardt wanted to take to Instagram following the goal to express his delight at getting off the mark. And there were a raft of responses from teammates, as well as players from other clubs.
Cooper sent a classy message to the teenager. But it was perhaps the response from Clarkson that summed up how many Leeds fans feel about Gelhardt…
