- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Given his strong form this season, Liverpool fans will be hoping for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s swift return from injury after the international break.
Alexander-Arnold pulled up with a hamstring issue during Liverpool’s recent 2-0 win over Aston Villa, and it’s touch and go whether he’ll be fit to face Southampton.
Arne Slot has a strong deputy available in Conor Bradley, but it’s difficult for any player in world football to replicate Alexander-Arnold’s skill-set right now.
That being said, TBR Football understands that Liverpool are due to meet with Alexander-Arnold’s representatives during the forthcoming international break.
Liverpool still don’t know if Trent Alexander-Arnold wants to stay at Anfield
Liverpool are yet to learn of Alexander-Arnold’s intentions over his future, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.
The club have long maintained a confidence that the England international will sign a new long-term deal with the club and sources insist that remains the case.

However, with Real Madrid amongst the clubs leading the chase – Liverpool’s top brass are naturally concerned.
Liverpool’s offer would put Alexander-Arnold on par with Mohamed Salah’s wage at Anfield, and he would become the highest paid England player in the Premier League.
Of course, Alexander-Arnold’s camp are aware of the growing interest from abroad, too.
Real Madrid leading the interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold
Real Madrid are still the most high-profile suitors and the Spanish giants have been doing background checks on the Liverpool man ahead of a possible offer.
TBR can confirm that Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also very much in the mix too, should Alexander-Arnold decide to leave.
As it stands, all parties believe that Alexander-Arnold is yet to make a decision on whether he is going to stay at Liverpool or seek an exit in 2025.
On their part, Liverpool hope that their teams with the defender’s team in the coming weeks will see them come to an agreement over a new deal.
And at the very least, Liverpool hope to learn what Alexander-Arnold’s intentions over his future actually are.
