Title-chasers Liverpool are by far the Premier League’s biggest spenders in terms of agents fees, according to the Independent.
The list of all 20 top flights clubs’ spending has been published and it has revealed that over £250m was unloaded across the board.
But while some fans may have expected Manchester United and Manchester City to be at the top of the list, it’s the Reds who actually are, having shelled out £43m in the past twelve months.
Their title bid this season has been powered by the arrivals of Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri, which has apparently required substantial payments to agents.

A subplot to this season’s gripping title race has been whether City have bought their way to success or whether Liverpool’s spending on big-money new arrivals to accelerate their development means Liverpool are in the same boat.
Spending money on agents fees is an unfortunate part of the game for elite clubs these days and Liverpool are no different with the scale of their ambitions under Jurgen Klopp.
But spending nearly £20m more than the side next on the list represents an extreme – and perhaps superfluous – outlay of money from the Reds.
At the very least, it underlines how serious they are about winning silverware under Klopp.
