Liverpool shouldn’t lose patience with Keita after just one season

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly ready to offload Naby Keita at a loss after just one season at Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is ready to get rid of Naby Keita after just one disappointing season at Anfield, according to TeamTalk.

They report that despite the fact that Klopp was willing to wait to land Keita, he has been so disappointed with his performances this season, he wants to offload him already.

Bundesliga outfits Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both reportedly chasing the Guinea midfielder, presumably hopeful that a return to Germany – where Keita made his name – would bring out the best in him once more.

The Telegraph reported that Liverpool paid £48m to land Keita last summer and TeamTalk claim that Klopp is willing to take a loss of over £10m on him this coming window to get rid of him.

But Keita, at his best, is the kind of powerhouse midfielder Klopp needs to fuel his Reds side. The German’s approach doesn’t really allow for central playmakers and it can sometimes take a season for a player to find his stride.

Keita has been underwhelming but he has been thrown into the heat of a title race and that’s not easy for every player to adjust to instantly.

Another pre-season behind him should see his form improve and making a loss on a player who has a long contract at the club shouldn’t come into Klopp’s thinking.
