Liverpool could be the big winner out of the mess Spurs currently find themselves in, with both clubs said to be keen on Lille defender Sven Botman.
Botman is a wanted man across Europe this summer after another impressive campaign over in France. First linked back in January, Botman has remained on the radar of both Premier League clubs since.
But with Spurs in upheaval yet again, Daniel Levy coming under increased pressure from the ESL debacle, and money said to be tight in North London, Liverpool could find themselves in pole position for Botman.
Botman ideal for Liverpool if the price is right
Of course, Liverpool aren’t exactly known for splashing the cash in recent windows themselves. They spent the whole of January mulling over a number of options, before settling on a loan for Ozan Kabak and then a cheap deal for Ben Davies.
However, the chance to sign Botman would be one they couldn’t really pass up. At 21, he’s of the ideal age and the Dutchman is already impressing both domestically and internationally.
A relationship and partnership with Virgil van Dijk, again, both at home and abroad, could prove enticing for Jurgen Klopp. Now, we all know Ibrahima Konate has been heavily linked, but nothing is signed and sealed as yet.
So with Spurs playing manager merry-go-round again and the club in turmoil, Liverpool may have the ideal opening to land Botman.
