Liverpool picked up the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night in Istanbul and now have a quick turnaround before a trip to Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League.
The Reds had to go through a tough 120 minutes with Chelsea in the cup final where the scoreline was 2-2, before eventually winning on penalties and making it a fairytale start for goalkeeper Adrian.
Manager Jurgen Klopp should now be left with some decisions over his team selection, as there is not much time for recovery before the 3pm kick-off on Saturday against Southampton and players are still working up to full fitness at this early stage of the campaign.
Xherdan Shaqiri is someone that was an unused substitute in the Super Cup and also left on the bench in the opening day league win over Norwich City.
But it makes perfect sense for the 27-year-old to get his first start of the campaign against Southampton and Klopp needs to utilise his squad by recalling him to the XI.
The Merseyside club could potentially do with him slotting into one of the central midfield positions, while he could do a job in attack too with Mane only recently back at Anfield.

Shaqiri has had to be patient so far this campaign, but it seems a no-brainer to bring his fresh legs in and he could cause Southampton’s backline plenty of issue.
He cost Liverpool £13million (BBC) from Stoke City and he enjoyed a decent debut year last season.
The left-footed dazzling attacker is capable of quality moments on his day, scoring six goals and supplying five assists in 30 games across all competitions last season.
