Reports in German courtesy of Bild have reported that Bayer Leverkusen are expecting a bid from Liverpool for Kai Havertz. Whether or not those are accurate remain to be seen.

The German wonderkid will likely fetch Leverkusen £110 million if he is sold (The Mirror).

Leverkusen have nurtured the 20-year-old and will want top dollar for their star attraction.

Havertz hasn’t performed to his expectation this season.

He has scored just five goals and registered two assists in a largely frustrating campaign for the youngster.

Havertz has netted in his last two games and that might indicate that he is on the brink of a return to his best form.

His 2019/20 blip of sorts shouldn’t stop Liverpool from pursuing Havertz, however.

The Germany international is still showing statistics that would make him a wonderful Anfield addition.

Klopp’s energetic, high-intensity style of play could be tailor-made for Havertz and he could transform him into a truly world-class talent.

Players like Divock Origi, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri might have been viewed as mediocre earlier in their careers.

Under Klopp, however, all three of those players have shown their value at certain times.

Havertz has netted 33 times in 128 games and at 20 there is still lots of unearthed potential in the player.

The Liverpool boss should be perfect for his career and the Reds should definitely continue their reported pursuit during the summer.
