Liverpool currently have Andrew Robertson as their outstanding first-choice left-back and he’s got to be one of the best full-backs around right now.

But his understudy Alberto Moreno is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and the Reds need quality competition in all areas of the pitch to compete across all competitions.

The Merseyside club should consider hijacking reported interest in Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are in the hunt for the left-sided flyer and are set to battle Atletico Madrid for his signature.

The report details that Dutch giants Ajax are prepared to sell the left-back for around £8million in the summer, which seems like a real bargain price.

Tagliafico played his part in Ajax’s famous victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League and is a key player for the Eredivisie outfit.

The 26-year-old is a senior international and an ever-present in the Ajax XI at left-back.

He’s certainly got plenty of attacking qualities that should interest Liverpool, with five goals and five assists in 31 games across all competitions this season.

Tagliafico is a quality full-back that could be brilliant competition for Robertson and give Jurgen Klopp to rotate without any concerns.
