Liverpool should consider Konstantinos Manolas to pair him next to Virgil Van Dijk

Liverpool are currently in the brilliant position of competing for the Premier League title and there is a real buzz around Anfield.

Regardless of whether they get over the line for the title, they have improved massively and are beginning to return to the top of English football.

Jurgen Klopp will need to keep improving his squad though if they want to stay at the top and adding another centre-back would be smart for next season.

Virgil Van Dijk is one of the best defenders in the world, while Joe Gomez has immense potential and they are backed up by decent options Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip.

But they would be the envy of Europe if they considered partnering Van Dijk with Roma’s Konstantinos Manolas, who should crop up on their radar.

According to Corriere dello Sport, defender Manolas has a release clause of just £30.9million.

Liverpool should be all over a swoop for the Greek colossus, who is a Rolls-Royce defender that would be an upgrade at Anfield.

The 27-year-old centre-back has proven himself to be an elite performer in Serie A and the Champions League, which is why his quoted fee is a bargain.

He has great pace, strength and awareness, which combined with Van Dijk could make Liverpool’s solid backline even better.
