Liverpool should consider a Naby Keita-like deal for Christian Pulisic

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have stormed the transfer window this summer, bringing in a host of top talents which have set the Anfield faithful’s pulses racing.

It doesn’t seem the Merseyside outfit’s spending is over just yet either, with the club being linked to making an audacious move for highly-rated Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Nevertheless, bringing the talented teenager to Anfield this season may be a hefty task, with Borussia Dortmund keen to keep the 19-year-old under their ranks for another season.

However, Liverpool should consider putting a deal in place for Pulisic to join them next season just like they managed to achieve with Naby Keita at RB Leipzig.

The Reds managed to acquire Keita’s signature a year in advance of his Anfield arrival, allowing the midfielder to stay for another season at RB Leipzig before joining Jurgen Klopp’s merry men this summer.

“I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid. He’s still not really old, he’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved people think highly of him in America. In Germany it’s the same.”

Pulisic’s current Dortmund deal expires in 2020 and if Klopp could manage to emulate the Keita deal for the talented teenager it would be a very shrewd bit of business from the German boss.

Another factor to consider in all of this is that Pulisic is far from the finished product, and another season in the Bundesliga would benefit not only Dortmund but Liverpool as well.

Liverpool are currently flooded with attacking options and if Pulisic was given another season in the Bundesliga to make a name for himself, he could join Jurgen Klopp’s ranks in the next campaign as a real contender to start in his strongest XI.

It remains to be seen whether or not Liverpool could strike up a Keita-like deal for Pulisic. However, if they managed to do so it would be the coup of this summers transfer window.
