Liverpool should cancel Karius’ nightmare loan deal to sell him this summer

Loris Karius wants Liverpool to cancel his two-year loan deal with Besiktas early, according to Turkish outlet Turkiye Gazetesi.

The 25-year-old was farmed out to the Super Lig side in the aftermath of his awful Champions League final performance last season.

And the unusual two-year nature of the deal, combined with the big-money, hugely successful signing of Alisson has made it pretty clear that the German stopper has absolutely no future at Anfield.

The move, which was likely geared towards removing Karius from the spotlight and allowing him to recover his form and confidence has reportedly gone so badly that the goalkeeper simply doesn’t want the loan to move into its second season.

As much as it would be easier for Liverpool to keep Karius in Turkey, they might as well just recall him to sell him at this point.

Karius is behind Alisson and Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool pecking order, with even promising Welsh goalkeeper Danny Ward being forced to move to Leicester in search of increased gametime.

He has no future at the club but there is no real benefit to keeping him at a club where he is not happy, settled or performing well just for the sake of it.

So Jurgen Klopp might as well grant Karius his wish and hope that he can find a buyer in the summer.
