Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi could be sold for as little as £52 million this summer according to AS.
The Argentine hitman has only just returned to the Nerazzurri’s starting XI after missing two months following an alleged dispute over a new contract.
It is thought that Real Madrid are in pole position to sign Icardi, who is undoubtedly one of Europe’s most talented marksmen.
In 212 appearances for Inter, Icardi has scored 123 goals and registered 27 assists.
Clearly there must be a problem between club and player if Inter are willing to accept £52 million for their talisman, and Liverpool should be making themselves a part of the conversation.
This development should spark the Reds into life, as he could be the difference-maker for Liverpool.
He is a clinical striker who could take the Anfield club to the next level.
The versatility of Roberto Firmino could allow the 25-year-old to take the lone striker’s role, with the Brazilian in just behind and Sadio Mane and Mo Salah on the wings.
Should Liverpool miss out on the Premier League table this term, then signing Icardi could potentially swing the momentum their way in 2019/2020 – if the valuation goes for teams that are not Madrid, Liverpool should not be thinking twice.
