Liverpool have been linked with a move for Barcelona’s flying winger Ousmane Dembele in recent weeks, but they have surely now been priced out of a bid.
Mundo Deportivo report that Barca will not accept anything less than the Frenchman’s 400 million euro release clause, which the Reds simply cannot match.
But if Jurgen Klopp is looking to add another dimension to his table-topping attack next month, they should ramp up their interest in Marco Asensio.
According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham have already made an approach for the Spanish flier but Liverpool held an interest during the summer.

The report claims that Asensio is only focused on making a success of himself in the post-Ronaldo era at Real Madrid, but Klopp will hope he can be tempted by the prospect of joining his Anfield revolution.
While Los Blancos struggle to deal with the loss of not just Ronaldo but Zinedine Zidane as well, Klopp has Liverpool motoring in the right direction.
The prospect of being the final piece of the attacking jigsaw may appeal to Asensio, as he is yet to receive the full trust he needs to kick on at the Bernabeu.
And if he does decide to leave, Liverpool cannot afford to see him go to Spurs.
