It has been a quiet January transfer window for Liverpool, but the club already appear to be looking towards the summer as the Mirror say that the Reds are interested in PSV starlet Steven Bergwijn.
Manchester United, Tottenham and Inter Milan are also believed to be interested in the winger, who predominantly features on the left, which could lead to a bidding war for the 21-year-old.
That is exactly why Michael Edwards and company should not consider pursuing a move for the Dutchman, despite his return of 10 goals and nine assists in 25 games so far this season.

His pace and energy would fit right in given Jurgen Klopp’s system, but many have drawn comparisons to Memphis Depay, who stood out at the same club in the Eredivisie before flopping at Manchester United after moving to England.
Liverpool have been cautious in their business in the past, showing that they are not afraid to splash the cash but will look for bargains where possible, and a bidding war for Bergwijn would not fit their model.
With plenty of depth in attack and the likes of Harry Wilson set to return from an impressive loan spell at Derby County in the summer, Klopp does not need to spend big on another attacker.
