Claudio Ranieri has spoken out to deny rumours that Liverpool may be hoping to secure the services of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as he told the press:

“Kasper has a signature on the contract. We won’t sell Kasper until any circumstances. We don’t need money. No chance. Liverpool can win title without Kasper.”

The Danish goalkeeper was reported to be an alternative to Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius with Jurgen Klopp seemingly not convinced by either of his current options despite signing Karius in the summer.

Klopp has been dealt another blow as he revealed that it seems unlikely that Philippe Coutinho will return for the fixture against Manchester City and may also miss out on the clash with Sunderland after the new year, as he said:

“The City game is too early and I’m pretty sure the Sunderland match on Monday is too early too.”

The Reds are also set to be without Joel Matip who is also missing out with an ankle injury which he continues to seek to overcome. Both are key men for the Anfield outfit and their absences could be problematic in a top of the table clash on Saturday.

After reports linking the club with a move for Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in January, Jurgen Klopp spoke out to rubbish those rumours, revealing:

“Usually I don’t say anything about transfer rumours, but I can make an exception, no problem. This is nonsense. From my side, there’s nothing else to say about it.”

Some fans had been excited by the prospect of signing the English youngster who has struggled for regular game time at the Emirates, with him seemingly a good option to replace Sadio Mane when he goes to the African Cup of Nations in the coming weeks.
