As Liverpool continue to be linked with a number of forwards from across Europe, the Telegraph report that they could make a move for Lyon’s prolific striker Alexandre Lacazette, who has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal after his incredible form in France has seen him average almost a goal a game over the past two seasons.
In truth, though, it is hard to see how the French international would fit into the Liverpool set-up, with other out and out strikers like Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge spending much of this campaign watching on from the sidelines.
It now seems that another target will not be coming to Anfield as Calciomercato say that Inter Milan are preparing to offer experienced goalkeeper Samir Handanovic a new contract to persuade him to remain at the San Siro amid speculation that he was being considered by Jurgen Klopp and his team.
Handanovic could have been the perfect back-up option with Loris Karius likely to be supported once again next season after some questionable form in his earlier spell in goal as a regular for the Reds.
In the immediate future, Jurgen Klopp will be boosted by the return to fitness of Marko Grujic as This Is Anfield claim that the midfielder is now back in full training with the rest of the first team after a number of injuries and knocks.
The young Serbian was brought to the club in the summer after signing a deal in January but has only featured prominently as a reserve option, with many believing that he will have a more prominent role next season should injuries not prove to be problematic as they have this campaign.
