The Telegraph claim that Daniel Sturridge could have made his last appearance for Liverpool after his latest injury setback, with the Reds growing frustrated by his continued injury problems. Whilst the reports do not yet indicate that Liverpool are actively looking to sell the England striker, they could be open to offers.
However, the Liverpool Echo say that Sturridge was back in training on Wednesday, working alone to regain fitness as he looks to overcome the latest injury problem. Whether or not Sturridge makes it back in time to feature for the Reds again, his days at Anfield do seem numbered.
The Liverpool Echo also report that Jurgen Klopp is set to make Fulham’s teen sensation Ryan Sessegnon the club’s top transfer target this summer as he looks to bring the left-back to the club as a long term solution to the problem position, with Alberto Moreno likely to be sold to fund the move.
Hull’s Andrew Robertson has also been linked, but the 16-year-old is the preferred option for Klopp, who believes that he could share the role with James Milner, to aid his development, without throwing the youngster in at the deep end with no Premier League experience since his breakthrough at Fulham this season.
Another young star who could be on his way to Anfield could be Malaga’s star striker Sandro Ramirez. Spanish newspaper AS believe that the former Barcelona player has a release clause in his contract worth just £5 million despite his goalscoring expolits having seen him find the back of the net 14 times in 27 games this season.
The 21-year-old has two years left on his existing contract having joined the south coast club last summer after failing to nail down a regular starting spot at the Camp Nou despite scoring seven goals in 32 appearances over two seasons in Barcelona. Now, Liverpool could pounce on his bargain release clause with the likes of Tottenham, Southampton and Stoke also interested.
