Spanish newspaper Sport report that Barcelona have made Philippe Coutinho their number one target for the summer transfer window and will look to take him to the Camp Nou to add strength in their front three and in midfield. The Catalans could use his close friendship with Neymar to seal a deal.

The Brazilian has seemed happy on Merseyside this season, even in spite of failing to reach the form that he achieved before picking up a nasty ankle ligament injury, but a move to a European giant may tempt him to consider a future elsewhere if an offer was incoming in the summer.

That money could be put towards the signing of Middlesbrough and England defender Ben Gibson, say the Daily Mail, as Jurgen Klopp and co. have joined the race for the centre-back alongside Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea. The 24-year-old was on the bench for the national side for the first time against Lithuania on Sunday.

Gibson has been hugely impressive for Boro this season with his side possessing one of the league’s best defensive records despite their poor league position and is now attracting attention from a host of the top clubs in England as they seek to add homegrown talent to their backlines.

One man who will not be sold this summer, despite having recently aired his frustrations regarding life at Anfield is Divock Origi, according to the Liverpool Echo. The Belgian has found starts few and far between this season in a new 4-3-3 set-up and recently revealed that he is unhappy with his current amount of game time.

These reports would indicate that the Reds are not prepared to consider the sale of the talented youngster, who has been through patches of good and bad form this season. The situation could be eased if Daniel Sturridge is sold in the summer.
