In huge transfer news for Liverpool, Goal believe that Paris Saint-Germain will not be enough to tempt Philippe Coutinho to leave Merseyside this summer. The Brazilian is thought to be happy at Anfield and would not consider a move away, even if the French giants do make an offer for his services.
Coutinho is believed to have become one of the Parisians’ top transfer targets this summer behind Kylian M’Bappe, but is prepared to reject any approach. Having signed a five year deal to make him the club’s highest earner in January, the number ten has no plans to leave and is not for sale.
Whilst Coutinho may be a guaranteed starter in, there is much more competition in goal. The Daily Mail report that young goalkeeper Danny Ward will not return to Huddersfield, where he spent last season on loan as his side earned promotion to the Premier League, and Jurgen Klopp has told the club website that he will compete with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius for the number one shirt, saying:
“That’s very comfortable for the manager, three really good goalkeepers… It was a little bit difficult for Loris but I’m sure he had his part in the development of Simon, who played a really good season. And Danny played a fantastic season at Huddersfield with a big success at the end. We have three goalkeepers and they can all show what they are able to do, and then we will see who will start.”

Mignolet took over as first choice after Loris Karius failed to impress despite only joining the club for £4 million last summer. Now, Ward will also be in contention after his Wembley heroics earned promotion via penalties for the Terriers.
Another youngster looking to make an impression is winger Sheyi Ojo. Jurgen Klopp has been keen to take a look at the England under 19 international, who won the under 19 World Cup this summer, but The Times say that both Middlesbrough and Newcastle are preparing loan moves for the youngster.
Ojo impressed on loan at Wolves in 2015/16 and was given game time upon his return to Anfield by Klopp but found his progress last season stalling after suffering a serious back injury in pre-season. Now, he will be looking to make up for lost time and a loan move could be the ideal way to prove himself.
