Liverpool round-up: Draxler given price tag; £130m bid imminent for Coutinho; West Brom want defender

Liverpool could be set for a three way race as they seek to secure the signature of Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder Julian Draxler, according to the Mirror. However, in better news, they also say that the Ligue Un club want just £32 million for the German international as they look to sell this summer.

That represents a loss of £8 million in only eight months since they signed him from Wolfsburg. It would surely be a bargain buy for any club who can sign Draxler, with Liverpool set to do battle with Arsenal and Manchester United as all three clubs look to add depth to the flanks.

Draxler could turn out to be a replacement for Philippe Coutinho as the Sunday Express report that Barcelona are preparing another bid for the Brazilian, this time upping their offer from a total of £119 million to £130 million. Only £80 million of that last offer would have come up-front and was immediately rejected by the Reds.

The report indicates that Liverpool are holding out for £140 million for their number ten after he submitted a formal transfer request the day before the Premier League season started last week. The key to achieving a deal could be a higher up-front payment if Barcelona are to get their man.

Liverpool could also cash in on another player whose future seems to lie elsewhere as BBC Sport believe that West Bromwich Albion are considering a move for unwanted central defender Mamadou Sakho. He is seen as a potential replacement for Manchester City target Jonny Evans.

It is clear that the Frenchman has no future at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp has refused to include him in any of the squads to date this season or in pre-season. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace but is yet to find a permanent home away from Merseyside.
