Liverpool have been linked with Youri Tielemans in recent months.

90Min reported in October that the Reds were eyeing the Leicester and Belgium midfielder.

However, Liverpool appear to have competition for Tielemans’ services.

As well as the Anfield outfit, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly eyeing the 24-year-old.

Tielemans’ Leicester contract runs until the summer of 2023 and he’s yet to renew it.

Liverpool will surely be monitoring proceedings as the Foxes ponder whether to cash in on the £40million man and if so, when.

While the Reds midfield is strong, there’s certainly scope to strengthen it in 2022.

The likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Thiago Alcantara are all 30 or over.

If Liverpool were to sign Tielemans, they’d be getting a “real complete midfielder”, in Brendan Rodgers’ words.

Ahead of Leicester’s Premier League meeting with Spurs, the manager waxed lyrical about his player.

“Youri gives you experience in the team, his courage to take the ball, his knowledge of the game, I can rely on him 150%,” he told the Leicester Mercury.

“He creates goals and score goals and has added a defensive side to his game which makes him a real complete midfielder.”

Sounds like a great shout for Liverpool.
