According to AS Roma Live, Liverpool are said to be keen on landing Roma defender, Roger Ibanez, as Jurgen Klopp seeks defensive reinforcements.
The Reds went back to the top of the table this week with a fine 2-1 win over Spurs. A Bobby Firmino winner enough to hand Klopp’s men all three points at Anfield.

However, they are still lacking in numbers in defensive areas and Ibanez, it seems, is the latest to be mentioned in terms of potential recruits to help out in the back four.
Ibanez, 22, hails from Brazil and has been a regular in Serie A this season for Roma. And coming from the South American country, he has a lot of top quality players to look up to in his career.
Indeed, according to Roma’s Official Website, Ibanzez ‘idolises’ current Chelsea star and Brazilian legend, Thiago Silva. The experienced former PSG man has been exceptional for the Blues this term following his free-transfer in the summer.

It goes without saying that if Ibanez can have some of the success Thiago has enjoyed, then he might just prove a sound addition for the Reds if they do indeed make a play for him.
Not a bad player to look up to – TBR View
They don’t come much better in the world of football defensively than Thiago Silva, especially over the last decade or so.
He might be at the back end of his career now but you can see from his performances with Chelsea that he oozes class.
Ibanez has that bit more versatility that Thiago does, but in looking up to the Brazilian stalwart, he certainly has the right eye for a player to follow in the footsteps of.
