Liverpool reportedly want to raid Bournemouth for exciting attacker David Brooks before Friday’s deadline though they face enormous competition from other Premier League clubs – and Jamie Redknapp recently gave an exciting verdict on Brooks.
Brooks, 23, remains at Bournemouth despite the club’s relegation. That is despite an excellent reputation after scoring seven goals and creating five more in his first season in the Premier League – following his move from Sheffield United.
However, the 12-time Wales international struggled with a long-term injury last season and has failed to continue to shine in England’s top tier. But Premier League clubs are more than aware that he is too good to be in the Championship.
The Mail claim Tottenham, Leicester, Everton and Manchester United are battling Liverpool for Brooks, with Bournemouth ready to sanction his exit for a fee of £40million. Redknapp claimed earlier this summer that he is as good as Jack Grealish.

“The one I am sure Bournemouth fans will be delighted to have back is David Brooks,” Redknapp told Sky Sports, as per the Daily Echo. “He is, I think alongside Jack Grealish, the best attacking player in the bottom six.
“He can make a difference to that team [Bournemouth]. He is such an advantage and will certainly help Bournemouth get out of that bottom three. I think he’s a sensational young player.”
TBR’s view – Brooks would be a stunning Liverpool signing
But would he get the necessary game time? Liverpool brought in Diogo Jota as an immediate replacement for either Mo Salah or Sadio Mane, while Takumi Minamino is getting closer to starting over Roberto Firmino.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi, Curtis Jones and others are also looking to get game time. Brooks would be a better alternative to turn to if Mane or Salah are unavailable and Jota is already being used, for example. But he needs regular game time.
