Liverpool have reportedly held talks with Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, who is also wanted by Serie A side AC Milan following a breakout season in Italy this campaign.

Inside Futbol claim that the Reds have been in touch with the Florentine club over a potential transfer heading into the summer window, with the Italian club willing to listen to offers of €40m to €50m (£34.7m to £43.4m) for the Serbian attacker. Corriere Dello Sport also reports that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are keen on the attacker, as well.

The 21-year-old striker has enjoyed a breakout season for the Tuscany club this season, with the youngster hitting 17 goals in 32 Serie A appearances this campaign, and this form has seemingly attracted the interest of Liverpool, who have found scoring goals to be a problem this year despite their title-winning dominance just 12 months ago.

Sadio Mane has only mustered eight goals for the Merseyside club in the Premier League this campaign, whilst Roberto Firmino has only managed six in the league, club-lows for the Liverpool attackers as Jurgen Klopp’s side four points off the UEFA Champions League spots in the table with five games left to play.

TBR View: Vlahovic can bring a new attacking direction to Liverpool

Vlahovic is a player with some impressive potential, and his stats this season only prove that the Serbian forward is only just beginning in his footballing career, and a transfer to Liverpool could be an ideal step for the youngster.

The Reds need a refresh to the way they attack, with Liverpool scoring fewer league goals this season than the likes of Tottenham and Leicester City, and if Klopp is to get the club back to the top of English football, changing the style of how they punish teams would be a good place to start, and Vlahovic might be an exciting solution to this problem.
