Liverpool reportedly eyeing ‘the next Vieira’ for £38m, fans should be buzzing – TBR View

When Liverpool lost Georginio Wijnaldum to a free transfer in the summer and didn’t replace him, some fans were left sweating.

They needn’t have worried, as the Reds have been sensational this season and their midfield has been strong.

Naby Keita has improved massively, Thiago Alcantara looks set to return after the international, and Jordan Henderson is consistently good.

That said, there is always scope to bring in new players, and Liverpool have recently been linked with a player that fans would love.

According to Tuttosport, Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Monaco and France rising star Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 21-year-old midfielder came through the ranks at Bordeaux and joined Monaco in January 2020 for a reported £16.2million.

Liverpool reportedly eyeing player Fabregas called “very, very good”

Tchouameni has already made 62 competitive appearances for Monaco and, since debuting for France in September, has won five caps.

He is a rising star and fans have previously compared him to the likes of N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba and Patrick Vieira.

Cesc Fabregas, who plays alongside Tchouameni at Monaco, has told fans that he’s a “very, very good” player.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal ace held a Q & A session with his followers on Twitter earlier this week, and a fan asked him about his teammate.

According to the Tuttosport report, Monaco wouldn’t part with less than 45m euro (around £38m) for Tchouameni.

For a 21-year-old who is being compared with some of the greatest midfielders in recent years, that seems a bargain.

However, if Liverpool seriously want to go for him, they’ve got strong competition.
