Report: Liverpool remain keen on Adama Traore; Klopp wants a forward signed

Liverpool remain determined in their hunt for a new forward player, and have Wolves winger Adama Traore firmly on their radar still.

That’s according to 90Min anyway, who claim that Jurgen Klopp desperately wants a new attacking player signed, with Traore among the options.

90Min suggest Wolves will demand around £40m for the Spanish speedster.

But with Liverpool raising money through the sale of fringe players such as Harry Wilson, that fee might not be a problem. Traore, 25, is seen as one of the more dynamic players in the Premier League, despite a lack of goals recently.

Traore scored just twice and set up another three last season. But while the stats don’t look overly impressive on paper, it is his pace and power which attracts Klopp and Liverpool.

With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane due to leave for the African Cup of Nations in the new year, it’s clear the Reds need someone in wide areas. Traore, then, could prove the perfect option.

Traore needs a move to get going again

Sometimes, players can simply go a bit stale with the club they’re at. And with Traore, there definitely seems to be an element of that.

His form has dipped a bit and with Nuno Santo gone, there’s a chance Traore’s time has also come to leave the club.

For Liverpool, it could be a match made in heaven. Traore’s speed is frightening, and while he is still quite raw at times, there is no doubt he is a threat.

Tim Sherwood joked the winger was a ‘bit of Messi and Ronaldo’ when he signed him for Villa back in 2015. But while Traore has fallen short of that mammoth comparison, he’d still be a useful addition at Anfield.
