As much as Liverpool fans hate to hear it, they may have to start planning for life without Mohamed Salah.

Salah is into the final year of his contract at Anfield, and Saudi Arabian clubs are still interested.

This season could be Salah’s swansong on Merseyside, and, if it is, the Egyptian will leave with an incredible legacy.

However, if Salah does go, he will need replacing.

Luckily, Liverpool seem to be ready to address that situation as they’re about to bid for a player who already knows how to replace Salah.

Liverpool ready to bid for Federico Chiesa

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Liverpool are ready to formalise their offer for Federico Chiesa.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Chiesa this week, and it sounds as though that interest is now stepping up a notch.

Chiesa would be arriving at the Reds as a potential long-term Salah replacement. After all, they have similar styles and play in the same position.

In fact, Chiesa already knows what it takes to replace Salah.

Federico Chiesa knows how to replace Mohamed Salah

Cast your mind back almost a decade and you may remember Salah had a very successful loan spell at Fiorentina in 2015.

Unfortunately, Fiorentina weren’t able to make that deal permanent, and they struggled in the aftermath of Salah’s departure.

That was, until the year later when they began to use a young player by the name of Federico Chiesa down that right wing.

Chiesa was a revelation at Fiorentina, perfectly plugging the gap left behind by Salah before eventually getting his big move to Juventus.

Now, here we are a few years later, and Chiesa may soon be tasked with the same mission – replace Salah.

Whether or not Chiesa is up to the task of replacing Salah at Liverpool remains to be seen, but the fact that he’s already done it once at Fiorentina is certainly encouraging.
