It is believed that Paris Saint-Germain star and former Real Madrid forward Jese Rodriguez could depart the French club and make a move to Anfield with an exit still possible, say Calciomercato, despite rumours of a collapse in a deal taking him back to his hometown club, Las Palmas, in Spain.

With just one start this season in Ligue Une, Jese’s move from the Bernabeu has not found him the first team football he was hoping to get after finding himself on the outskirts of Zinedine Zidane’s team last season.

Philippe Coutinho could finally be set for a return to action on Wednesday night against Southampton in the EFL Cup semi-final along with James Milner as Jurgen Klopp has revealed:

“I think Phil is fit enough to be part of the squad. That means then there could be minutes. How many, whatever, I don’t know. It depends on the game. He’s on a good way. It was six weeks, seven weeks, that’s long. He needs minutes in training especially, but of course as soon as possible he needs minutes in games. We will see. No final decision made until now. It was the third complete session he did with the team, tomorrow would be the fourth. It’s not that many, but for being in the squad I think it’s enough. We will see.”

The German boss also provided an update on Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson with both players being in good shape and nearing a return to action imminently.

The Reds have also done well off the field as they managed to secure a £250,000 profit with the sale of defender Tiago Ilori to Reading for a fee worth £3.75 million as the deal was confirmed, say the Liverpool Echo. The Portuguese international was signed in 2013 but failed to reach his potential at the club.

The former Sporting Lisbon man was once tipped for greatness but will now seek to revive his career in the Championship with the Royals.
