Liverpool predicted XI v Wolves: Fabinho in midfield, Firmino on the bench

Liverpool travel to Wolves tonight looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League and get themselves back into contention for a European place.

The Reds have been in woeful form since the turn of the year and desperately need a lift from somewhere.

Jurgen Klopp’s men did beat Leipzig in the Champions League last week and they’ll need to rediscover some of their form from that game tonight.

Ahead of the trip to Molineux, we looked at the team which could be chosen to line-up against Wolves this evening.

In the full-back slots, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson should both retain their places.

Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips are likely to get the nod to play together at centre-back.

Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip remain long-term injury casualties.

Midfield

Fabinho returned to the midfield during the Champions League win and Liverpool looked like a different team.

He should get the nod to start tonight, with Curtis Jones likely to drop to the bench.

The £100,000-a-week star has been a tremendous loss in midfield. Although he has done well when called upon at centre-back, the Reds have lost a spark with him playing a deeper role.

Gini Wijnaldum has proved evergreen in the Liverpool midfield this season and he is set to start.

Thiago will complete the trio in the engine room for the Reds.

In attack

Roberto Firmino has missed the last two games but he could return to the squad this evening.

Klopp, however, could choose to place the 45-cap star among the substitutes.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both scored in the Champions League and they are set to start in the wide positions.

Diogo Jota will relish a return to his former stomping ground and his energy could be telling this evening against Wolves.
