Liverpool predicted XI v RB Leipzig: Thiago start, James Milner benched

Liverpool take on RB Leipzig in Hungary tonight as the Reds look to enjoy the distraction of a Champions League clash.

The Reds are in horrible form in the Premier League and West Ham’s win last night has seen them slip out of the top-four.

Jurgen Klopp will hope to revive his team’s fortunes this evening and secure a morale-boosting victory against the Bundesliga outfit.

Ahead of tonight’s clash, we look at the team Klopp could call utilise this evening.

In goal and back four

Alisson Becker is struggling with a crisis of confidence, although he should be handed the chance to play through his erratic form.

It seems unlike that there will be too many changes across the back four either.

Ozan Kabak endured a torrid debut up against Jamie Vardy but should start alongside Jordan Henderson again this evening.

At full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson should both start in their respective positions.

Midfield

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see one change in the midfield tonight as Klopp looks to freshen things up.

The £140,000-a-week James Milner was substituted early doors against Leicester and Thiago could start for the Reds this evening.

Gini Wijnaldum and Curtis Jones should play alongside the Spaniard in the Liverpool engine room.

The Dutch midfielder will need to be careful as a caution tonight will see him miss the second leg.

In attack

Despite Liverpool’s poor form since the turn of the year, there won’t be a knee-jerk reaction in the attack.

Mohamed Salah scored at the weekend, whilst Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are both striving to reach top form.

Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri will compete for places but are likely to settle for places on the bench this evening.
