Liverpool predicted XI v Fulham: Diogo Jota starts, Ozan Kabak out
Liverpool face Fulham today in desperate need of three points to keep up their Champions League aspirations.
The Reds were feeble in defeat to Chelsea in midweek and desperately need to find a way to goal.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are yet to score from open play at Anfield in 2021 and that quite simply isn’t good enough.
Ahead of today’s game with struggling Fulham, we looked at the team Klopp could go with.
In goal and back four
Alisson Becker should keep his place in goal after making a return to action in Thursday’s win.
Both full-backs should remain unchanged with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back and Andy Robertson at left-back.
There will be an enforced change at the back once more though, with Ozan Kabak now nursing an injury.
Fabinho will continue at centre-back with Nat Phillips likely to return alongside him.
There is unlikely to be a change in the middle of the park with options once again relatively short.
Expect Thiago to operate in the middle of a three-man midfield with Gini Wijanldum and Curtis Jones to play either side.
Liverpool’s midfield has lost some of its spark this season with Fabinho and Jordan Henderson missing.
The trio could be key today, however, and they’ll need to be on their game today.
Diogo Jota could replace Roberto Firmino today as Klopp looks to add some goals to his team.
The £90,000-a-week ace has recovered from his injury and could now provide the Reds with a badly-needed spark.
Alongside him expect Sadio Mane and Mo Salah to continue in the team.
