Liverpool are set to make their way down south for the second time in four days as they prepare to face Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Arne Slot’s Reds, fresh from facing Arsenal away on Sunday, will be heading to the south coast to face the Seagulls in the fourth round of the competition.

Liverpool have made a good start to the season and, as well as sitting second in the Premier League table, have also won all of their Champions League games so far.

The Reds, who beat West Ham 4-1 in their opening Carabao Cup clash of the season, will now be looking to take a step closer to retaining the trophy.

Liverpool team news v Brighton

Slot confirmed at his pre-match presser that Conor Bradley is back in training and could make the squad.

However, he admitted he expects to still be without Federico Chiesa, while Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker are all out.

Liverpool predicted XI

While Caoimhin Kelleher has been doing a great job for Liverpool and is first-choice in Alisson’s absence, Slot may well look to give him a rest and give Vitezslav Jaros a start.

The 23-year-old made his Liverpool debut off the bench this season and a Carabao Cup game would present a great opportunity for him to make his first start.

In defence, we predict Slot will rest all of the players who started against Arsenal.

Kostas Tsimikas, Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley could all come in as Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold make way.

Slot said Wataru Endo is likely to start against Brighton so we think he’ll get the nod alongside Dominik Szoboszlai, who didn’t start against the Gunners.

The Liverpool boss could also opt to give all of Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch a rest and give 17-year-old Trey Nyoni his first start for the Reds.

As for the Reds front line, Slot can’t make too many changes. We feel Mohamed Salah will get a rest, while Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz will start.
