Liverpool will be hoping to make it two wins out of two in the Champions League and claim a third consecutive victory in all competitions tonight.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds got back to winning ways last week with a 1-0 triumph at Ajax before running out 2-1 winners over Sheffield United in the Premier League at the weekend.
Now, Liverpool are back in European action, with Denmark’s Midtjylland coming to Anfield for an 8pm kickoff in Group D.
Alisson Becker’s return to action against the Blades was a huge boost for Klopp and he’s likely to name the 28-year-old once again in the XI.
In defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold’s form has been a bit patchy, so the Liverpool boss could potentially give him a rest and put 19-year-old Neco Williams at right-back instead.
Joel Matip is expected to miss out again, so Fabinho will likely continue at centre-back alongside Joe Gomez, with Andrew Robertson completing the back four.
There are also absences in midfield, with Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara out, but we predict a return to a three-man setup in the middle of the park.
James Milner shone against Ajax last week, while 19-year-old Curtis Jones should be cutting his teeth with games like tonight, so we predict these two to line up alongside Jordan Henderson.
There could also be changes up front to give the famed attacking trident a bit of a break, and given there are some top talents waiting for their chance, it makes sense for Klopp.
Diogo Jota has certainly made his point for a starting berth and could be named in the XI once again, potentially replacing Sadio Mane in a front three.
Though Roberto Firmino looked sharper against Sheff Utd, Klopp could opt to give the £180,000-a-week ace a rest and give Takumi Minamino the chance to see what he can do.
That said, changing too much at once may not be the best idea, so we predict Mohamed Salah will keep his place in the XI and potentially come off on the hour.
